Martin Günther is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of smart Europe GmbH. He brings extensive expertise in finance to his role. Since joining Mercedes-Benz AG in 2005, he has held various management positions at Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH and Daimler Global Service & Parts Operations.
Before joining Mercedes-Benz AG, Martin held various senior management positions in finance from 1997. He led the Accounting & Controlling department and was Assistant to the CFO at SIXT Leasing AG in Munich. From 2001 to 2005, Martin served as a member of the board of management at Alphaform AG.
Martin started his career at Mercedes-Benz AG in 2005 as the Head of Finance & Controlling at Mercedes-Benz Customer Services GmbH in Stuttgart. His journey continued in 2012, when he joined Daimler AG as Head of Controlling at the Global Logistics Center in Germersheim. He also took over overall controlling coordination for Global Service & Parts Operations in 2016, significantly contributing to the successful development of all mandated functions. Next to his line-function responsibility, he has implemented project Future@GSP (Global Services & Parts Operations).
Since the beginning of 2020 Martin has been Chief Financial Officer of smart Europe GmbH. He played a leading role in the financial setup and company foundation of smart Europe GmbH, which was successfully registered in June 2020.
