André Janssen-Timmen joins management of smart Europe GmbH as new Director Sales
André Janssen-Timmen joined the management team of smart Europe GmbH as the new Director Sales Europe on 1 October. From the headquarters in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, the 54-year-old is responsible for building up the brand's Europe-wide sales network. The experienced sales professional previously spent around 25 years in various management positions at the BMW Group.
"We are delighted to have André Janssen-Timmen join us as a proven sales professional who can look back on a number of notable successes in his career to date," explains Dirk Adelmann, CEO of smart Europe GmbH. "He will lead our sales functions at headquarters and orchestrate the development of our joint European sales organisation."
The future, completely redeveloped smart Europe sales organisation will redefine omnichannel commerce with its data-driven approach. The brand will provide its customers with a more transparent and convenient customer journey with meaningful interactions at every touchpoint - offline and online alike. To achieve this goal, smart is using its experienced and valued network, which will be optimized for the future sales structures.
"What particularly appeals to me about my new job is that I get to build up the sales of the future for smart Europe," says Janssen-Timmen. In his new role, Janssen-Timmen will report directly to Adelmann.
After successfully completing his studies in economics at the university of his hometown, the Oldenburg native began his professional career at the BMW Group in the mid-1990s. He took on various tasks in the areas of sales, marketing and consulting, first for the motorbike and later for the brand's automotive division.
For example, for the past five years the father of two grown-up daughters filled the position of Head of Corporate, VIP and Direct Sales Germany at the BMW Group, having previously redefined the organisation and market position of the MINI brand as Head of Sales and Strategy.
