Henry Wattel is the CEO of smart Belgium SA. In this role, he oversees setting up the national smart organization and building a team with a fresh, ambitious, and pragmatic spirit.
Henry brings with him over 10 years of experience in the Belgian automotive market, with a significant portion of that time dedicated to leasing activities. He began his automotive career at ALD, where he managed relationships with the company’s largest accounts and participated in various projects focused on customer experience and new mobility products. In his final three years with the group, Henry transitioned to ALD International, where he supervised international large accounts and was actively involved in finance projects.
Subsequently, Henry decided to join Toyota in Belgium, contributing to the development of fleet activities for Belgium and Luxembourg. In this role, he managed Fleet Development, dealer animation for the South Region, and strategic projects such as the Hydrogen Society rollout. During his tenure at Toyota, he furthered his qualifications by obtaining a national master’s degree in advanced automotive management.
Since March 2022, Henry has been the CEO of smart Belgium SA, contributing toward writing its next successful chapter.
