(July 17,2024, Jakarta/Hangzhou) In a significant new stride towards further expanding its global footprint, the premium intelligent all-electric auto brand smart has announced its return to the Indonesian market via a strategic partnership with Inchcape, a global leader in automotive distribution and general distributor for Mercedes-Benz in the region. The new partnership aims to invigorate Indonesia's NEV market with a blend of innovative premium BEV products and an enhanced customer experience, highlighting smart brand’s commitment to global growth and premium service.

The MoU signing ceremony got underway at the prestigious Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in Jakarta, where smart brought along two members of its new-generation product portfolio, the smart #3 BRABUS and smart #3 Premium. The smart #3 embodies an exciting and unexpected avant-garde spirit well-matched with the urban lifestyles of discerning Indonesian automotive enthusiasts. According to the latest plan, the smart #3 will be launched locally within 2024.

smart’s re-entry into Indonesia brings the brands global footprint up to 29 markets. Since the launch of its first new-generation product, smart has delivered over 100,000 units globally in just 20 months, setting a new industry record. Meanwhile, the smart product family continues to grow, with the highly anticipated smart #5 set to make its global debut in late August. In addition, an entirely new smart model will launch in 2025, expanding the brand’s scope into a whole new market segment.
