smart Excites Music Fans at the GLÜCKSGEFÜHLE Festival 2024

September 27, 2024, Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany. At this year's GLÜCKSGEFÜHLE Festival from September 12 to 15, smart was once again present as a mobility partner and with an extensive brand presence. 200,000 fans from all over Europe were able to experience the brand in a variety of ways and enjoy international music acts at the same time. smart presented numerous highlights at Germany's largest music festival: from test drives with the smart #1 and #3 models at the Hockenheimring to the so called smart House, which allowed visitors to experience electric mobility in all its facets. This year, the smart booth was directly behind the entrance to the festival site, providing a central point of contact for guests. The visitors included 17 influencers that smart had invited to the festival and who accompanied all activities via social media during the festival.

The partnership with smart is of great importance to the GLÜCKSGEFÜHLE Festival. The test drives at the Hockenheimring were clearly a highlight for all mobility enthusiasts. I myself took a spin with Dirk Adelmann and Markus Krampe in the smart #3 BRABUS and was thrilled by the driving dynamics. I was able to meet fans at the smart booth and watch the Backstreet Boys with my family from the smart terrace. In addition to 40 hours of live music on several stages with well-known artists such as Backstreet Boys, Tokio Hotel, and Leony, smart offered interactive exhibitions as well as a wide range of personal exchange and entertainment, which contributed to an extraordinary festival atmosphere. 

Visitors were able to test drive the smart #1 and #3 on a section of the world-famous Hockenheimring. All 250 available test drives were already booked on Friday. The smart House offered a particularly varied and creative encounter with the brand: from nail art with smart designs and an Instagram-fitting photo wall to co-designing the smart #3 into an inspiring art piece in collaboration with the artist Romulo Kuranyi – true to the brand's motto “Open Your Mind” – there were no limits to inspiration and creativity.

When 200,000 young people from all over Europe come together in one place for music and art, this is an ideal indicator of the mood for us as a future-oriented brand. At the GLÜCKSGEFÜHLE Festival, we experienced a great deal of open-mindedness towards electromobility. This was already the case at the premiere in 2023, so this year’s event only confirms our decision. In cooperation with Viva con Agua, visitors had the chance to win a smart #1 and raise awareness for the need for safe access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation. To this end, music fans in the smart House were able to have a photo taken with the message “Water is a human right”.

Another highlight was the presentation of the smart Concept #5, which was on show in Europe for the first time. The one-off vehicle celebrated its world premiere in April 2024 as the most versatile and particularly visionary and creatively designed product from smart. At the end of August this year, the production model of the smart #5 was presented in Australia. It will be launched in Europe in 2025. 

At the end of the festival, Shirin David performed before the varied program was concluded with a large fireworks display. Music fans continued to get their money's worth afterwards at the smart House, where Stuttgart-based DJ Niklas Ibach created an exuberant atmosphere among the party guests at the after-party.
