As the Global CEO of smart, Mr. Tong Xiangbei is responsible for the overall operations of the smart brand, covering sales, marketing, R&D, production, and aftersales.
Tong Xiangbei graduated from Beijing University of Technology with a degree in automotive and internal combustion engine design and has more than 30 years of extensive experience in the automotive industry. In 1998, he joined Ford China and held key management positions at various manufacturing plants across the United States, China, and the Asia-Pacific region. During this period, he oversaw the establishment of multiple vehicle assembly plants worldwide and successfully led the launch of several new vehicle models.
He joined Geely Automobile Group in 2015 and has held several key leadership positions, making important contributions to the company’s development. During this period, he led the development and construction of the Lynk & Co Zhangjiakou Plant. Built on Geely’s flagship architecture and powertrain system, the plant has an annual production capacity of over 200,000 vehicles. He was also responsible for leading the development and construction of Geely Auto’s Future Industrial Development Project.
