Global CTO of smart

Mr. Yang Jun has been appointed the Global CTO of smart, to oversee the R&D operations of smart models. He has accumulated more than 28 years of experience in the automotive industry. Before joining the smart Automobile, he has worked for global automotive OEMs in China, Canada and Malaysia.

Mr. Yang Jun has more than 28 years of experience in vehicle research and development. His most notable work includes the development of a series of well-performing gasoline and electric vehicles at Geely, and he has made considerable contributions to the R&D of Geely models following his enrolment as Vice President of Geely Automobile Research Institute in 2014. From October 2017 to the end of 2018, he served as CTO of Proton Cars in Kuala Lumpur.

Mr. Yang obtained his bachelor’s degree from Jiangsu University in 1994, followed by a master’s degree in automotive engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2014. His expertise ranges from automotive R&D to managerial roles in leading automotive brands across China, including GM, SAIC, Borgward, and SAIC-GM-Wuling.
