The charging ecosystem, that is built on smart’s partnership with ABB E-Mobility (ABB) and Digital Charging Solutions (DCS), ensures a convenient refueling experience and well-developed infrastructure.
Across Europe, DCS offers more than 290,000 charging points (> 270.000 AC and > 24.000 DC). The DCS charging Card comes for free with every smart #1. DC stations enable smart #1 drivers to charge from 10 to 80 % in only 30 minutes – a perfect time frame to combine with a Charging Challenge by setting a personal goal for each recharge: learn a new language, do yoga, or a small workout, and return to the road invigorated.
With the integration into the smart app, which offers information such as location, available connector type and general availability, charging becomes not only hassle-free but also personally productive.

Thanks to our strong partners, the place of charging is no longer dependent on dedicated locations. With the smart charging ecosystem from ABB E-Mobility (ABB) and Digital Charging Solutions (DCS), smart #1 drivers can recharge their batteries at home (home charging with the smart wallbox) as well as on the move (public charging). Convenient and stylish smart home charging
Since the smart #1 has a range of up to 440 kilometers, it probably doesn't need that many regenerating breaks to reach the desired destination. Moreover, as an e-mobilist, drivers can enjoy the convenience of being able to recharge directly at home. Wallboxes make charging particularly convenient and practical, as they allow the electric car to be charged at home independently of the public charging infrastructure.

Thanks to the partnership with the Swiss-Swedish company ABB, the wallbox and installation can be ordered directly with the purchase of the smart #1. This makes the process of setting up a charger very straight forward for customers. The smart wallbox comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and ethernet connectivity as standard. Through a state-of-the-art RFID authentication method and a seamless integration into the smart app a convenient charging process can be guaranteed.
